New CFO of the foundation

Aarhus, 29 August 2016

Press release

Claus Fynbo Larsen has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Aarhus University Research Foundation

On 1 September 2016 Claus Fynbo Larsen will assume the position as Chief Financial Officer of Aarhus University Research Foundation. The new position has been created following the expansion of the foundation with more subsidiaries and Auriga Industries’ sale of Cheminova. The foundation’s latest great activity is the purchase of the former Aarhus Kommunehospital from the Central Denmark Region with which the foundation’s subsidiary Forskningsfondens Ejendomsselskab or FEAS has signed a purchase agreement.

Claus Fynbo Larsen is 43 years old and holds a Master of Science in Economics (1999) from Aarhus University. He has several years’ experience with investment and wealth management, most recently as Senior Adviser with Investering & Tryghed and as Senior Financial Adviser with Nykredit.

The foundation is currently undergoing an economic and operational development that requires full focus on our investments and wealth management. Therefore, Chairman of the Board Brian Bech Nielsen has no doubt that the foundation must be strengthened on that front:

‘It is our clear ambition to strengthen the foundation’s grants for research purposes at Aarhus University and to secure the best possible conditions for the university. I have no doubt that the management of the foundation’s financial activities is in good hands with Claus Fynbo Larsen’, the Chairman of the Board says.

Claus Fynbo Larsen looks forward to his new challenges as Chief Financial Officer of the foundation. ‘I will do my best to ensure that the foundation, through a solid and long-term financial strategy, can increase its support of scientific research at Aarhus University. I will be cooperating closely with Managing Director Jørgen Lang and the entire team at the foundation – it is a collaboration I look forward to‘, he says.

The foundation’s management group is now composed of Managing Director Jørgen Lang and Chief Financial Officer Claus Fynbo Larsen, both of whom are responsible to the Chairman of the Board.

‘In cooperation with Claus Fynbo Larsen I will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the foundation and for providing the board with the best possible basis for offering solid and active support of Aarhus University. The foundation’s activities have increased significantly in recent years, and especially following the sale of Cheminova we are in need of Claus’ extensive knowledge on wealth management’, says Jørgen Lang, who is also looking forward to collaborating with the new Chief Financial Officer.
